The New Data Landscape in Health Care: Advanced Analytics for Strategists

This online certificate series features expert faculty who will present on the following four module topics around data analytics: New and Emerging Data Sets; Changing Landscape of Inpatient and Ambulatory World; Rapid, Market-Specific Strategic Decision Making; and Data Visualization and Storytelling. Each module will include live webcasts, discussion board questions, application assignments, and access to additional resources, tools, and reports. This one-day, in-person session focuses on a key skill identified in SHSMD’s Bridging Worlds: The Future Role of the Healthcare Strategist — facilitation. You will discover how to: run effective meetings or discussion forums where goals are met and decisions are made; manage difficult or challenging participants; listen effectively; incorporate decision-making criteria; engage your audience/encourage participation; resolve conflict; be assertive and “control” the environment; negotiate on the fly. Completion of all assignments and successfully passing the final exam will receive a SHSMD ADVANCE™ | Credential and official SHSMD Digital Credential.

Intensive Session: Design Thinking for Healthcare Strategists
September 23 & 24, 2017 | In-Person at SHSMD Connections 2017 in Orlando
In this two-day in-person session focuses on a key skill identified in SHSMD’s Bridging Worlds: The Future Role of the Healthcare Strategist — design thinking. You will learn the principles and process of design thinking by participating in facilitated activities; learn specific design thinking methods, activities, and tools; generate insights, potential solutions, and a concept pitch to solve a healthcare design challenge; understand how co-creation can be applied to healthcare strategy roles and projects; explain the process and benefits of design thinking and co-creation. Completion of all assignments and successfully passing the final exam will receive a SHSMD ADVANCE™ | Credential and official SHSMD Digital Credential.


Building Coalitions to Accelerate Innovation and Intrapreneurship

This event is designed for senior managers and teams responsible for solving complex problems, starting new business opportunities, or driving innovation at their organization. Participants will assess and identify potential skill and attribute gaps and strengths that support strategic leadership and coalition building; Through case study and situation analyses, participants will apply tools and techniques to build coalitions to move ideas to execution; Using an existing project, participants will build the core components of a business case and apply strategic communication techniques key to coalition-building; Attendees will also emonstrate successful application of coalition-building skills. Effective Storytelling in Healthcare
